Sherbrooke Community School is a P-12 alternative to neighbourhood schools. It is small, yet through its innovative structures, provides a comprehensive P-12 curriculum for a wide range of student abilities and aspirations.

Parents choose this school based on its clear educational philosophy and its ability to nurture individuals while demanding high standards of group responsibility.

Our overarching goal at Sherbrooke Community School is:

“To develop a school community of empathetic and critical thinking citizens with a sense of purpose and an ability to make an effective contribution to the world”

The guiding principle of Sherbrooke Community School is that the school is a cooperative endeavour involving students, parents and teachers in all areas of decision making and in all aspects of the school. A solid structure is in place to support communication and participation and to provide a decision making process that is transparent, efficient and accountable.

Innovative curriculum practices support the effective delivery of the state government current initiatives in Early Years literacy & numeracy, Middle Years student engagement & Later Years VET and VCE courses of study. Educators from around the world contact the school to gain insights into our innovative programs such as the “Connected Curriculum”, “Roundtable” Student Assessments and our democratic teaching and learning practices.
