Primary - Prep to 6

In the primary years at Sherbrooke Community School, we follow the Australian Curriculum and provide students with the opportunity to learn in small, flexible classes that cater to their individual needs. We work to create an environment where students of all ages can learn and grow together.

There is a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and all of the core subjects throughout these years to help students develop a solid foundation for all areas of learning.

Our learning program has also been designed to include a range of hands-on experiences and outdoor learning through our science lessons and integrated units. Our current projects include an indigenous sensory garden and an outdoor gardening collaboration between the VCAL and primary students called, ‘Kids Teaching Kids’.

Primary students at Sherbrooke Community School also have the privilege of being taught a large number of specialist classes by experienced teachers.
These include:
  • Art
  • Food Technology
  • Drama
  • Mandarin
  • Music - including free instrumental and singing lessons
  • Physical Education - including interschool sports and swimming
